Affordable Art

I don't think there's much that I can add to the many ingenius and thoughtful gift guides all over the blogosphere (this is the first time I've ever used the word "blogosphere" #nerd). But I will share with you a website/gift source that I LOVE. 20x200: a Jen Bekman Project has tons of affordable art by emerging artists. I admittedly do not know much about collecting art, but I do "know what I like" and I've always thought that legitimate art (aka- art not purchased at Target) was beyond my budget.

20x200 features limited edition prints and photographs in a few different sizes and framing options. It's the one e-mail marketing newsletter that I truly love opening every morning. My first order (which I have not listed below because it's a Christmas gift for my dad) came with the note "Live with art, it's good for you." I've never thought of it that way, but it's true, right? I have a handful of colorful framed prints and photographs that just make me smile every time I look at them.

So. If you're still looking for that perfect gift, you should definitely browse though 20x200. Below are some of my favorite images along with where I'd display them.

P.S. Don't miss this gift guide, this one for guys, oh and this one, too.

  1. I always felt the same way, that I can't afford a real collection, but I've started to really want to build one. Love the colors of the pieces you've chosen and very happy to find out that there's a whole site about emerging artists!
